Early Childhood Care and Education
This full-time award leads to a QQI level 5 Certificate after one year. The course is structured to provide students with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognized qualification for those wishing to work in the childcare sector in a variety of areas such as; working with the child in a day care nursery, preschool or with a child with a specific need.

About The Course
The Early Childhood Care and Education Level 6 course will equip the learner with the skills, knowledge and competence required to work in the childcare sector in a supervisory position in a variety of settings such as: pre- schools, Naoinrai, crèches, nurseries and day- care centres.
This course gives you the qualification for SNA in Pre-school, Primary or Secondary schools. Learners will understand and relate concepts of leadership and supervision to pedagogy and practice showing a significant depth of knowledge of the principles, theories and concepts pertinent to effective ECCE service delivery.
It will prepare learners to work competently, safely and effectively with children. Learners will understand and implement a range of policies, procedures and best practice guidelines that support the delivery of an effective early childhood care and education service. The course is also a preparatory course designed for students who intend to pursue further training in the Childcare sector in an Institute of Technology or University.

Work Placement/Experience
Professional Experience
Participants will be required to undertake 120 hours of work placement in a relevant accredited child setting. The college will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.
