Graduation Ceremony for Class of 2018
Kinsale College
Kinsale College Graduation Ceremony took place on Wednesday, 9thth May in the Sáile centre, Kinsale, with over 600 people present on the night.
Ms Deborah Somorin was an inspiring guest speaker on the day. Ms Somorin gave an uplifting presentation on overcoming homelessness and how Education ‘saved her’ and her little boy. A topic, that is very close to the ethos at Kinsale College. Deborah is the founder of the not for profit company, ‘Empower the Family’, that will open student accommodation with affordable quality childcare for lone parents between 18-23 in third level education.
Liz Moynihan, Director of Kinsale College outlined the unique provision offered by the College in its wide range of courses. The forging of links with local and regional employers who offer valuable work experience options is foundational to this endeavour and surely sows the seeds for wide-ranging entrepreneurial ventures for the graduates of Kinsale College once in the workforce.
Students graduated from Level 5 & 6 courses in Healthcare, Childcare, Office Administration, Business, Horticulture, Art, Multimedia, TV & Film production, Drama, Outdoor Education, Professional cookery and in the new and exciting English course.
Deirdre Mullins from Haven Bay presented the Healthcare student of the year to Shannon O’ Sullivan.
The college offers students the most up-to-date, relevant and bespoke career guidance advice. Kinsale College ensures that course offering complements labour market demands locally, regionally and nationally while being recognised by third level colleges as a sound basis for the pursuit of disciplines at undergraduate and future post graduate levels.
The College has only just begun in terms of driving and developing their unique ethos and excellence as a Centre of Learning. Possibilities for future development are boundless.
