Early Learning & Care Stage One
QQI Level 5
This full-time award leads to a QQI Stage One Certificate in Early Learning & Care after one year. The course is structured to provide students with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognized qualification for those wishing to work in the childcare sector.

Outdoor Adventure Education
QQI Level 5
The Course, which was established in 1987, is now recognised as the primary training opportunity for people interested in outdoor and adventure education. The intensive two- year course is based in the college campus in Kinsale, utilising the extensive resources and equipment available ashore and afloat.

Office Administration
QQI Level 5
This course is specially designed for anyone who wishes to return to work or up-skill but also anyone wishing to progress to 3rd Level in Business related courses. The programme concentrates on the practical elements of Office Administration. The graduate from this course will have the QQI level 5 Certification.

Professional Cookery
QQI Level 5
This course allows learners to develop practical culinary skills with an understanding of nutrition, food science and food hygiene. The course includes active menu planning and food service in our restaurant. Students also have the opportunity to obtain a primary certificate in food hygiene accredited by the Environmental Health Officers Association (E.H.O.A).

Sustainable Horticulture / Permaculture
QQI Level 5
Sustainable Horticulture / Permaculture is a science based course offering a practical and wide-ranging learning experience in a unique and thriving college community. Kinsale has a strong tradition of food and farming, as well as providing a near-idyllic environment for exploring ecology and the natural environment.

Multimedia Production
QQI Level 5
The Level 5 Multimedia Production course provides a grouding in the tools and techniques used for working across a range of sectors. From websites, advertising, image processing or animation, graduates of the Multimedia Production course have more opportunities than ever before. The majority of work on the course is practical rather than theory based and students are given the opportunity to produce varied, substantial portfolios.

Theatre Performance
QQI Level 5
The theatre Performance course provides a training in core performance skills. Classes and performances are centred in the college’s unique amphitheatre, and well equipped studio. The teaching practise in Kinsale is underpinned by belief in an ensemble approach to theatre. Classes are taught through practical workshop supported by discussion and reflection.

Healthcare Support / Caring for the Elderly
QQI Level 5
This full-time QQI Healthcare Support Course is designed to prepare students to work competently, safely and effectively as a Healthcare Assistant in a variety of settings such as nursing homes, hospitals and home help support. This course is unique in that Kinsale College is the only centre offering a fully accredited Dementia Care Module that underpins this course.

Art
QQI Level 5
Kinsale College Art course offers students an excellent opportunity to assemble a portfolio of work, which they may use to gain access to diploma/degree courses. It is a wonderful course to discover Arts in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. On completion of this course students will have a large portfolio of work suitable for applying for places in any of the 3rd level art institutions in Ireland, the U.K. and Europe.

TV and Film
QQI Level 5
Kinsale College guides students through all aspects of Film and TV production and students have access to their own editing suite (iMac with Adobe Premiere Pro) and HD video equipment. Students are encouraged to pursue their own creative interests and have the opportunity to work collaboratively in all apsects of film crew roles.

English for Speakers of Other Languages
QQI Level 5
This course is designed for students, where English is not their first language. It will fully prepare them for the world of work. There is also a focus on IT skills which is essential in securing employment. Students will have access to a state of the art language laboratories where fluency in English will be the main focus of the course.
